• Important Information for Camper Families

  • To the parents/guardians of registered LifeCamp campers:

We look forward to welcoming your child to LifeCamp this summer!  We view it as a privilege to work with your child during his or her time at camp and we will do everything we can to make this a memorable and rewarding experience for your child. Below are details you need to know to ensure your child is ready for his/her experience at LifeCamp.  Tuesday, July 6th is our first day!

Paperwork:  It is essential that we have all the required documents regarding your child’s health history on file, so that we are in compliance with state and county officials.  This means the physical examination form and the immunization history, both completed and signed by your child’s doctor.  Please make sure all paperwork has been signed by you as well.  Your child will not be allowed on the bus for camp until all paperwork has been properly submitted.  You should have received an email and/or phone call from me if you are missing paperwork.  If you have any questions about paperwork, please call me immediately at 973-867-3213 or email me at kathy@greaternewarklifecamp.org, so we can resolve any issues before the start of camp. Please be sure to advise the office if any changes have been made to your phone number or emergency contact information. If  camper exhibits a fever or COVID symptoms at camp – the parent/guardian or emergency contact must come to Pottersville and pick the child up.

Medications: Any and all medications that need to be administered at camp (or at camp in the event of an emergency e.g. an epi pen) should be included on the medical paper work submitted by you and the physician.  The medication must also be given to a counselor at check in, in its original packaging.  The medication will be kept at camp in the health office.  It is the campers responsibility to collect their medication from the staff member on duty in the health office their last day of camp.

Attire/what to bring:  Campers are primarily outdoors and active while at LifeCamp.  Recommended attire is: sneakers, shorts or lightweight pants, T-shirt (we will give your camper two shirts after their first day), bathing suit, swim cap, towel, and shower shoes/flip flops or water shoes for the pool area and wading in the Lamington River. Please do not bring water bottles, we have water at camp.  We recommend that campers do not wear sandals as it will impair their ability to participate fully in many activities.  We recommend that you write your camper’s name on clothing and bags that they bring with them to camp. Please be sure to have your child wear a mask.

What not to bring: No candy, no electronic devices such as iPod, and no cell phones.  Your children should become fully immersed in their LifeCamp experience, which they will not do if they are focused on their electronics. LifeCamp will not be responsible if these items are lost or stolen. (Camp is 100 acres – if a phone is lost, it will most likely never be found.)

Bus information:  Campers will depart from Saint Benedict’s Prep 100-120 Branford Place. Campers can be dropped off beginning at 7:30 am but must be there by 8 am latest.  Campers should be masked and will have their temperature taken and asked COVID-19 Daily Screening Questions. Any camper with a fever, exhibiting COVID-Symptoms or answers “yes” to screening questions will be sent home immediately. Campers will return from LifeCamp at approximately 4:45 pm and must picked up by 6pm.  Campers will be supervised by LifeCamp staff prior to and after bus rides.  You must sign your child in at drop-off and out at pick-up.  A photo ID is required for pick up.

Attendance: There is no need to call if your child will miss a day of camp. It is critical that all members of our LifeCamp family stay safe. If your child has exhibits COVID symptoms (fever, cough, shortness of breath, sore throat, chills, muscle aches or rigors, headache, new loss of taste or smell, abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting or diarrhea), has had contact with someone who is currently sick, has traveled to a “hot spot” – please keep your child home until they have taken a COVID-19 test and the result is negative. We expect all members of our LifeCamp family to act responsibly. If you need help locating a testing location or need help locating a vaccination site, please contact the office (973) 867-3213 we are happy to help.
