We are thrilled to invite you and your family to the Essex Horse Trials and Peter Chesson Memorial Car Show on Sunday, July 2, immediately following Family Orientation.
The Essex Horse Trials is a two-day horse competition! It takes place at the beautiful Moorland Farm, just a few miles from LifeCamp.
In addition to Eventing, often referred to as the “Equestrian Triathlon.” Developed in the early 20th century as the ultimate test of the ideal military officer and his mount, Eventing has evolved into an exciting sport attracting participation from all levels of enthusiasts – from amateur recreational riders to professional international stars. It is one of three equestrian sports represented every four years at the summer Olympic Games.
A great way to kick off the LifeCamp season! Lunch, meet a pony, horse races, a car show and more. Please bring your family and join us at the LifeCamp tent near the water jump.

In addition to the equestrian activities, there will be a car show! The Peter Chesson Memorial Car Show will be run from 10:00 AM until 2:00. Our campers will select the “LifeCamp Trophy” winning car.
LifeCampers and their families will enjoy free admission, boxed lunch and a great view of the water jump. We will be running a bus from St. Benedict’s Prep to LifeCamp for the Family Orientation, then on to the picnic and back to Newark by 3:00 PM.
